It is not uncommon for mechanical equipment to malfunction during operation. However, for some large-scale mining enterprises, sudden or abnormal shutdowns of impact crushers during operation can cause significant damage to the equipment and have certain impacts
1.Overload protection
Impact crushers are usually equipped with overload protection devices. When the load on the crusher is too large, the overload protection device will be activated, automatically cutting off the power supply and stopping the crusher from working. This might be due to the crusher processing more material than its designed capacity, or there being difficult-to-crush material in the crushing chamber.
2. Motor failure
Motor failure might be the cause of the sudden stop of the impact crusher. Possible motor faults include motor overheating, short circuit, and circuit faults, etc. It is necessary to inspect the motor, identify the cause of the fault and carry out repairs.
3. The drive belt slips
Slippage of the drive belt may cause the impact crusher to suddenly stop. It is necessary to check the tightness and wear degree of the belt, and replace it if necessary.
4. Foreign objects enter the machine body
If foreign objects such as iron blocks or steel bars enter the crushing chamber of the impact crusher, it may cause the crusher to suddenly stop. The crusher needs to be stopped, foreign objects in the crushing chamber removed, and then production can resume.
5. Overheating of the bearing
Overheating of the bearing might be the cause of the sudden stop of the impact crusher. It is necessary to check whether the bearings are damaged, whether there is a lack of lubricating oil, and whether the bearings are installed correctly.
6. Hydraulic system failure
If the impact crusher uses a hydraulic system to adjust the size of the discharge port, a malfunction of the hydraulic system may cause the crusher to suddenly stop. It is necessary to inspect the hydraulic system, identify the cause of the fault and carry out repairs.
